What is the Bluefin Blowout?
The Bluefin Blowout is recognized globally as the world's largest Bluefin tuna tournament. Presented by the Lyon-Waugh Auto Group, we are proud to be New England’s premier sportfishing event and the highest-grossing fundraising tournament for the Alzheimer's Association in the country.
More than just a competition, the Bluefin Blowout brings anglers and supporters together for a powerful cause. The schedule features a kickoff fundraiser and a week packed with community events, all leading up to two intense days of fishing on the open water.

Are weigh-ins open to the public?
Yes! Watching the weigh-ins is exciting and open to the public. Please see "Tournament" FAQs for more details.
Is the event family-friendly?
Absolutely! The Bluefin Blowout offers activities and entertainment for all ages, including live music, food vendors, and interactive experiences. It’s a perfect outing for families to enjoy the energy and excitement of the tournament while supporting a great cause.
Are pets allowed?
Yes! We are pet friendly. All leashed and well behaved animals are welcome.
What are the parking and transportation options?
Parking is available onsite at the Cape Ann Marina, but fills up quickly given the excitement of the event and general marine traffic. Carpool if possible.
I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
There are several hotels in the area, but we recommend staying with our host, Cape Ann Marina(https://capeannmarina.com/), or our neighbor, Beauport Hote(https://www.beauporthotel.com/)l.(https://www.beauporthotel.com/) Both proudly support the Bluefin Blowout and our cause, offering special room rates during the event.
Where is the closest airport & public transportation?
• Boston Logan International Airport is located approx. 40 miles from the Bluefin Blowout. If travelling via private air transportation the Beverly Airport is also available.
• The T provides public transportation from Boston and surrounding towns to Gloucester, with a stop located approximately 1.5 miles from the venue.
Will there be merchandise for sale?
Yes! Official Bluefin Blowout merchandise, including t-shirts, hats, and more, will be available for purchase on-site and online following the tournament.
Are there rain dates?
All Bluefin Blowout events are rain or shine.
