How do I register for the Bluefin Blowout?
Details for 2026 registration will be announced at a later date.
Who can participate in the tournament?
The tournament is open to both professional and amateur fishing teams. Participants must register in advance and adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the tournament committee.
Is a Commercial License needed to fish the tournament?
No, a commercial license is not required. However, it is the responsibility of the captain and the registered vessel to comply with federal recreational fishing regulations. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the tournament and the forfeiture of any fish weighed.
Where can I find the tournament rules?
2025 tournament rules can be found under the RULES tab on our website. Rules are subject to change for 2026.

Do I have to attend the Captain’s Welcome Dinner and Closing Ceremony?
At least one member of your crew must attend the Captain’s Welcome Dinner to obtain your welcome packed with the official rules and to pick up your captain's bag.
If your team places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the tournament you must attend the Closing Ceremony to collect your winnings!
What do I get in my Captain’s Bag?
The Captain's Bag is jammed packed with official Bluefin gear for captain and crew and exclusive items from our supporters and sponsors.
What if I have more than four Crew Members on my boat?

When is the registration deadline?
The registration deadline depends on the marina and tent's capacity. However, we encourage early registration to secure your spot in the tournament. More details to come

What is the Calcutta and Aggregate?
A "Calcutta" in fishing refers to a side pot of money within a fishing tournament where participants can "buy" different teams or anglers by bidding on them in an auction, with the highest bidder winning a portion of the prize money if their chosen team or angler catches the biggest fish or wins the tournament. The Calcutta, "aggregate" refers to the combined total weight of all the fish caught by a single angler or team across the duration of the tournament.
Can my family attend the Captain’s Welcome Dinner and Closing Ceremony?
Family, who are not apart of your boat crew can attend the Captain’s Welcome Dinner and/or Closing Ceremony if the tent capacity has not been met and extra tickets have been purchased in advance.

What is the prize structure for the tournament?
The tournament awards cash prizes and trophies to the top teams based on the weight and size of their catch. Specific prize amounts are announced closer to the event date.
